Trick To Lick And Kick Brick

TRICK TO LICK AND KICK BRICK
Birthday isn't hard as brick
When you get a cake for kick
That you both enjoy and lick
Without suffering from trick

Happy 50th Birthday Malaysia! [Special For Fri. 31st Aug. 2007]

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY MALAYSIA!
Through the toils of those in the paddy fields, tin mines and rubber estates
And the political leadership in the Alliance came about the independent state
Where Malays, Chinese, Indians and others are joined in making their stakes
To enjoy the fruits of their labour through the enlarging economic cakes
With durian as the king of their fruits and mangosteen as the queen
This land is well blessed with pastures and forests that are still green
Now there are some serious efforts to keep all the major rivers clean
There is still the vital need to keep in focus Vision 2020 for all to glean
Scattered all over the entire land with mosques, churches and temples
As avenues of choice for each individual worshipper to freely assemble
We all pray for meaningful religious freedom and genuine harmony
Whereby national unity in diversity is more than mere ceremony
While politicians love in parliament to argue, quarrel and debate
The common folks love "Open House" during major festivals to celebrate
There will always be leakages and seepages for those concerned to deliberate
More important will be for full transparency and good governance to accelerate
May all citizens young and old grow in maturity along with the nation
And graduate eventually from restrictive, reluctant type of tolerance
To that of respectful, responsive, sincere mutual acceptance
When all can stand shoulder to shoulder in equal station
Come 31st August 2007, "Happy 50th Birthday!" good old Malaysia
May you continue to be the jewel and worthy model in the whole of Asia!

Odes To Malaysia

ODES TO MALAYSIA!
When there was the search for Malaysia's favourite national girl
It was won with all four paws down by the strong Malaysian tiger
Looking around for another gal petite and dear
It ended up with the pretty wise little mousedeer
With plenty of sunshine it's easy to get a permanent tan
Especially when one is a hairy 'Orang Utan' or 'rambutan'
Most popular musical note here is obviously the sixth note 'la'
When every sentence practically automatically ends with a 'lah'
If you're curious to know the habitual late comer's pastime
Then it must be related to the practice of stretchable 'rubber time'
If you wonder why the local hands often have oily palms
Then the cause may lie with growing too many oil palms
While some are obese with the majority being thin
You may get the answer from the lean price of tin
When you want to see something beautiful yet may cause some nausea
Then you have to hunt high and low in the jungle for the rare Rafflesia
When you can love to eat Malaysian durian with its thorns and smell
Then you've qualified and adapted to the popular lifestyle real swell
When you want to get a smooth and quick entry in 2007 to visit Malaysia
At right places just shout the passwords "Happy 50th Birthday, Malaysia!"
